My setup probably looks kind of basic, but my intention is to keep things as minimal and clean as possible. Less time managing and thinking about tools, and more time actually doing.
Hardware
iMac M1 (2021): Still handles everything perfectly. The 4K screen is great for high-res artwork, and the all-in-one form factor keeps the desk clear.
MacBook Air M1 (2021): For when I’m working away from my desk. It’s still decent and completely reliable.
iPad mini (6th generation, 2022): I thought I was going to use this for sketching but really I just use it for reading articles and blog posts now which is what it’s perfect for.
iPhone 16e (2025): I still miss my 12 mini but this is the lightest/smallest iPhone you can get now. Has everything you need and nothing you don’t.
Magic Mouse & Magic Keyboard: Because they integrate with macOS perfectly and are visually minimal.
Kindle Paperwhite (2019): For reading books. I don’t love the low-contrast display on this, so I’m currently looking around at other options.
Apple TV (2016): I can’t believe this thing is still running so well.
Software
Figma: I spend about 90% of my design time in Figma. The first time I used it, it just clicked and I’ve never looked back.
Affinity Photo: A few months ago, I finally cancelled my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Their software has gotten so bloated, leaving a thousand background processes running. It has been a bit of a learning curve getting used to how Affinity works, but it handles pretty much everything I need it to without the bloat.
Nova: My go-to editor for writing code and managing my sites. It’s fast, clean, and native.
Safari & Apple Defaults: I use the built-in Apple apps for pretty much everything. Mail, Notes, Calendar, Reminders, Photos and iCloud. They sync perfectly across devices and they require zero configuration.
Analogue
Hobonichi Planner (A6): While my general project planning and reminders stay on my Mac, I really like the physical feel of writing out and checking off my daily tasks on paper.
Zebra Sarasa Pen: Just a really nice, smooth gel pen for sketching out quick layouts or jotting down thoughts.
